Photostory Friday

10 Years

The Boy and Miss Peanut Butter are 10 years apart. As he is making his way through the crazy world of being a teen, she is exploring the world as a toddler. I was a bit worried about the age difference at first. I wasn't sure how The Boy would take to being a brother, but he has been pretty great. We brought him to the big 20 Week ultrasound, he came up the day after she was born, and he likes to show her off. I think he loves the role of big brother and gets down and plays at her level with her. She can be awfully rough with him; smashing him with her push car, swinging at him with her bat, throwing stuff at him, but he takes it all in stride and I don't think ever gets mad. He does try to discipline her, which I really don't like, but I just have to tell my self its the age difference. She really loves him, he went to camp a few weeks ago and even though he only stays here a couple nights a week, she needed to check if he was in his room every morning. She was starting to miss him. With the summer here, he's not here as often staying at his mom's some days, so when she does see him she gets all excited.

I snuck these two photos when we were at the ball field. She ran up to him and he lifted her up. But she had an agenda, she wanted the hat.

I think this age difference is really to your advantage. My sister and I are 3 years apart, and having some of the same friends was a pain. My brother and I get along better, and we're 6 years apart.

Seems they always have an agenda when they're little. :)

I LOVE the first shot...frame worthy for sure!!

My son is ten years older than my youngest daughter. He ADORES her. the shots I get of the two of them are some of my very favorites.

Great PSF...thanks so much for playing with us this week!

precious. Sounds like he loves her as much as she loves him.
Just can't pretend with this kind of relationship.

They are so sweet! Mine are pretty close in age, which is usually good, but also causes lots of problems. Sounds like you planned it out pretty well. :)

I'm almost 11 years older than my baby brother, who's also my half-brother. (Although really, who the heck counts that "half"??)

I think it made having a close relationship easier, since there wasn't the competition that naturally shows up when you're closer in age.

Loved the baseball pics! As a mother of active athletes, sports pictures are my favorites, I think!

It sounds like they have a wonderful time together. They just appreciate it on different levels.
As for disciplining, I've heard of several older siblings who have done that, my husband included. It's all part of the fun!
