This is a photo of the painting Berthe Morisot by Manet it is in the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. Yes, I have been lucky enough to have been to Paris not only once but twice. On my second trip my only request was to see the Musee d'Orsay since J and I missed it when we were there for our honeymoon, back when the dollar was worth more than a euro. I just found out I was pregnant before I left for the second trip.
My whole desire to go there was I had wanted to see paintings by Monet, and this beauty by Manet struck me. I was in absolute awe and didn't know why. I stared at her and she stared back, I took her photo in case I couldn't find something of her in the gift shop. I'm glad I did, I only found something in a Museum book, which I of course bought.
I hadn't thought much about her until I was looking through my Paris photos for todays post, when it hit me. When she caught my eye was she giving me and insight to what was to come. Was she giving me a glimpse of who Peanut Butter might be before she was born? Is that why I was so taken with her?

That's so cool!! I love the idea that we can be inspired and not really have a clear reason why. Maybe someday you will know why, maybe you won't. Either way it's a great story!!
Thanks for playing PSF with us again this week!
By the way, your link on Mr. Linky brought me to your post on Friday the 6th. I signed you in again with today's URL.
Wow, that is a brilliant idea to post this. It's always the eyes, isn't it? When I went to see the tiny Mona Lisa in France I swear she followed me around. I'm hoping you'll find out what she has 'in store' soon. Thanks for playing PSF, perfect!
At catches people's eyes for a multitude of reasons. You'll know why this when did when it's time to know.
Okay, first of all my husband and I have been to Paris together twice- on our honeymoon and during my first pregnancy!
And during my first pregnancy we bought a Matisse sketch of a girl with a heart shaped face. I just couldn't stop thinking about it. And five months later when my daughter was born the first thing I noticed was her perfect heart shaped face.
so envious! I so want Paris!! My hubbie used to work there so has no desire to return!!
How great. I remember getting a sense of deja vu when Peaches was two weeks old.
I love the feeling that I always knew how she'd be. Sounds similar to the feeling the painting gives you.
wow. that gave me chills. The resemblance is uncanny, isn't it! Brilliant choice for PSF.
Have a great weekend :-)
She is so much more captivating then the Mona Lisa!!
She is striking. That stare.
Love that you held on to your intuition, not knowing why.
Thanks for sharing!!
What a cool post! And a great photo! And I'm totally jealous you've been to Paris. TWICE.
It's a striking piece. :) When I lived in Chicago a traveling Monet exhibition came through and his works never cease to amaze me. That's wonderful you were able to visit and see them in Paris.
