A Walk into New Territory

Thursday marked the 23rd month of Miss Peanut Butter's life. I cannot believe she will be 2 in a month. We are walking into new territories with this milestone. Words are forming fast and furious. We are attempting the potty training bit. Any suggestions in this area? She has a such love for babies right now. She is little miss independent, it needs to be her way. I am finding out that no is the answer for anything without a choice even if it is yes. She is always walking with purpose as fast as she can. She is my little spitfire and I love her with all my being.

Our babies are very close in age. The photo with the sentiment made me a little melancholy -- where'd did these two years go? Lovely shot :-)

You may want to try your link over at PSF, I received a "page does not exist" notice and came through my own link to you.

Awww! Happy early birthday to her lol. 2yrs old. Wow! I remember when my oldest (now 4yrs old) had his second birthday. We took him to the circus.

As for potty training tips ... oh lordy I have none. Were STILL trying to get the potty training down and as I mentioned above, my son is 4yrs old now.

Wow, I remember when Annika was turning 2 years. I tell ya, it doesn't get easier as far as being nostalgic. The further you get from birth, the more emotional you become. It's crazy how much they learn and how fast.

As for potty training, I'd just go with what she is telling you. Don't push it and try not to get frustrated. It's a hard thing to do, believe me. Annika was a tough one to pt. Good luck!

aww, i love that. you're in love with her with all of your being. that makes me teary :D i'm sure the next time i blink my baby will be 23 months. i will mourn for you :) give her lots of hugs and kisses.
potty training - for us was all about incentive... when he peed or pooped on the potty he got a beloved thomas train. i've heard that teaching a baby doll is helpful, but i've not heard a lot of real-life cases - but since she loves babies, maybe it would work?? good luck with it!

I've written a bit about potty training, both some positive and negative aspects of it. I've got a little boy so they may or may not be helpful. I really think when your toddler decides they're ready they'll do it all by themselves.

LOVE that picture! Her hair sure is getting long.

We started potty training (very loosly around Cooper's 2nd birthday) by having him sit on the potty a couple times a day - before nap, before dinner, etc. It worked well, as long as we remembered to consistently take him. Ultimately, he decided shortly after his 3rd birthday that he no longer wanted to wear diapers and that he wanted to wear big-boy underwear - that was all it took! He has had fewer than 1/2 dozen accidents. Good luck!

love this shot! my little guy is 2 1/2 & still showing no real interest in potty training. Come to think of it he's not really talking much either. I'm no help at all!!

Toddlers are my favorite, with the words and funny things they say. They grow up SO fast. I say enjoy time with her and for me the whole potty thing is still a mystery...my son is 2 and 1/2 and still has NO desire. My advice is to watch for cues I think she will demonstrate when she is ready...or you can spend most of your days running her to the potty to try to go. Who knows, she is a real cutie.

I had a flash back to when my daughter was two.... A real spitfire!! and oh, so independent and cute as all get out. and I love her with all my being as well.

On the potty training -- boys are so much harder and later. In training my daughter -- about two days of concentrated effort, attentiveness and praise, she had it licked, and she wasn't quite two. One of the big helps was having another child the same age at her babysitters and training them together. The other girl had an older sister for them to emulate, too.

From what you say, I think she is ready. Good luck!

My son is almost exactly the same age. I agree....potty training is SO HARD. Its as hard as dealing with those tantrums!

Potty training -- well, you can train, and read and teach, and eventually something clicks one day and they suddenly get it. Good luck, and hold on for the ride -- it just goes faster and faster from here. Oh, and the picture, I love kids walking away from the camera. Great job.

Lovely!

It's the terrible twos you need advice with not potty training! Potty training is a breeze compared to the tantrums!

WOW they grow up to fast don't they - my only advice in potty training is wait LOL - I did with my son and it went like clock work soo easy and smooth. :) Good luck though, it's one of the things in parenthood I dreaded MOST!

Oh, I love that shot...I have a thing about back shots of kids.

Happy almost birthday to her!! The time just goes by so fast, doesn't it? I wish I could tell you it slows down, but it doesn't. In a good way, but it doesn't. :)

Great PSF!

I don't know why I'm so slow to say or notice this but wow she has a lot of hair! My daughter had so little hair as to be almost bald until after she went to kindergarten!
