So, Michelle Obama has taken a lot of flak about her comment, “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country. Not just because Barack is doing well, but I think people are hungry for change.” I can't for the life of me figure out what the big deal is. I think she should be proud, she may very well be married to the first black president. We actually had a viable woman running, sorry Hillary I think your run is over. I don't get why everyone thinks Hillary is a C U Next Tues. I asked my husband this, an adamant Hillary hater. Why do you like Nancy Pelosi who you say is a bitch, but hate Hillary? And he said Nancy doesn't pretend not to be a bitch. Okay. Any who, I think people should be proud that they are coming out and voting. I'm glad more issues are starting to be brought up other than Iraq. Though I am glad they are talking about getting out. I'm glad people are starting to see that light at the end of the tunnel. Is it wrong to be proud that people want change? I honestly don't know who I will be voting for. I am a registered Independent. Yep, I'm a flip flopper. I don't get what wrong with saying hey, maybe I was wrong, or hey I see your side. May the Best person win. Yes maybe she shouldn't have said for the first time, but that's how it came out.
Do you think there is a problem with Michelle being proud?

I don't understand the uproar either. She SHOULD be proud of her country AND of her husband. I am proud when my dh's accomplishments are recognized. Why should she be any different?
I try not to get involved in politics all that much, but I think she should be proud, but to say she's proud for the first time seems like our country has never done anything worthy. I know Bush has run our country to the ground in a lot of aspects, but we've done some great things in the past too. I think when she says something like that, she seems a bit uneducated. Perhaps that's why she's getting reamed??? Not sure, but I didn't read about this either.
i agree with you, may the best person for the job win. i'm a bit of a flip-flopper myself although i'm not following politics much these days... sure, she should be proud. my blog
i agree with michelle. i think her comment sounds ignorant. not the fact that she's proud, but how she said it....being that it's the first time she's proud. if she can't take the heat... well get out...
i agreed with michelle and her comment. it is time for our country to make some serious changes!
wait i had better clarify that. i agree with michelle o. i love michelle leigh too though!
I agree with the comments from Michelle and Amy. She sounds ignorant to me to say that she's finally proud for the first time.
