PhotoStory Friday: The First Snow

PhotoStory Friday

The First Snow

Monday morning Peanut Butter and I awoke to a few inches of snow.
It was our first ground sticking snow of the year. She decided to peek
out the window to get a better view of the white stuff.

She was in awe of the white stuff and also is a wee bit scared of it
for some reason. She looked as if she was going to die when
I set her down on some to walk in from the car; she put up a small struggle.

She will point and say, "Snow." She will reach out to touch it, then pulls
back quickly like she might get burned or something.
For some reason she just doesn't like the stuff.

She may be in for a very long winter.

*Sorry to my regular readers I know I used these on Monday, but I liked them and the were perfect for today.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving folks. It was a blah day here that seemed to go on forever. It felt like 10pm at 6pm. Peanut Butter and I didn't have the turkey dinner. Peanut Butter didn't eat dinner at all. Note to self: do not make dinner right after PB wolfs down a bunch of goldfish, she is no longer hungry. J comes home tomorrow afternoon, I am pretty excited about that, while this week has gone pretty well just PB and I, except for the alligator wrestling on Tuesday morning to get her in her clothes and into daycare, I am ready to have another parent at home. The bad thing is because J has been gone for a week she is so used to just me, she just wants me.
I was supposed to get her transitioned into the big bed this week too. I didn't, in fact I gave up. I will try and give it another go later in the month. She has started to go down fairly quickly in her crib opposed to fighting it like she has been.
I am going shopping tomorrow. I am only going to kohls, target and jo anns. I went through all the ads and found most of what I wanted at these places. I may stop at Michaels and pick up a cricut cartrige since they are on sale for 29.99. No, I haven't gotten one yet, but they are 99.99 at joannes with free shipping so I'm going to tell J that is what I want.

The First Snow

We woke up this morning to a few inches of snow. It is the first time Peanut Butter has grasped the concept of it. We didn't play a whole lot outside last year in the snow. I don't do cold very well anymore. I did have to shovel though and of course it was the wet heavy snow.

I have to go back to work tomorrow for 2 days and then I have Thursday and Friday off. I'm curious to see if there are any deals that will make me really want to get out there on Friday. I am afraid what is going to happen when I drop her off at daycare tomorrow. I have a feeling I will be crying myself when I leave. It is usually hard for me to drop her off, but with my being off for a week this could potentially be hell.

Since we did get snow, I had to go get Miss PB a pair of boots to play outside at daycare tomorrow. I think everyone had the same idea wait til the first snow and have to get a pair. I did, however, already buy snowpants. Of course PB wanted the Disney Princess boots, but that wasn't happening. Two of the pairs I wanted were out of her size, so I ended up with a pair of carters. Some how I cannot get that girl's foot inside a pair of boots. She did walk away from Kohls with some princess slippers.

And guess what? I am going to Madrid for a weekend in December with my Mom. She needed to rack up some miles before the end of the year. J said he would take off work to take care of PB. I am so excited. Hopefully I can learn some spanish before then. Christmas gifts could be interesting, I just know the boy wants bull fighting outfit.

Monkey Business

We had a pretty lazy day Sunday morning here. Peanut Butter and I were both in our pjs until 11:30. I got another Tivo'd movie watched, Juno. I watched Gone Baby Gone on Friday. We then headed to the Dells and met my Mom at the outlet mall. We shopped the good shop and yep, there are some deals and steals out there. It makes me wonder how low are prices going to go before Christmas. I had to break into one of Miss PB's gift purchases to keep her from trying to open them all. We also stopped at build a bear and she ran around that place like someone who had been stuck in a stroller for an hour or so. We finally got Mr. Monkey here with a sound box in his arm for the monkey sound effect. I think they stuffed him a little too much though, he was almost cuddlier without any stuffing. And they said they were going to put the sound box in his hand and it is in his wrist. I would have gone for the tummy had I known that. Live and learn I guess. And yes, I forgot to bring my camera again.

The Point of Repulsion

Like Kat's hubby mine gave me flowers before he left for deer hunting for knowing what I will endure over the next week. I have been off of work since Tuesday and I think Peanut Butter and I have hit out point of repulsion. You know when your eating something that is so good your eat it up and eat it up until it makes your want to throw up, yet you still want more, that is where we are at. We love each other, but don't necessarily want to be around each other. PB managed to put on the tantrum of all tantrums at nap time she screamed for an hour about being in the crib and screamed for me to go away when I attempted to appease her. After giving up on trying to take her out of the crib she cried for another 30 min and I came up and napped in the bed across from her. I could not even deal with trying the big bed tonight and she went in the crib. I'm sure around 1:30 she will wake and sleep the rest of the night snuggled with me in my bed. I even went to wally world for a new video tonight because I couldn't take anymore of the ones we had or Noggin. We got TinkerBell and it actually isn't to bad. I didn't think she would be ready for Wall-E quite yet and Kung Fu Panda wasn't going to work for me. I considered taking her to Bolt, but she was in a mood this afternoon, so that wasn't happening. We are meeting Nana in the Dells tomorrow which should be a nice little break. I am hoping to get a little Xmas shopping in too.

Not Feeling it

Lately I just haven't had it in me to blog. I also realized that according to certain rules I have a sucky blog anyways. I haven't had a Thought for Thursday in ages and I couldn't even muster up a Photostory Friday something I have actually enjoyed doing. I understand that there are things people like reading more than other things. I love a good story and even a bit of sarcasm when I read people blogs. I also like reading about the tedious day to day stuff, because you all know we all go through it from time to time. I say this because I don't try to suck, I try to put out a good story, I try sarcasm, I even try good gramar, and don't catch most of my mistake in the first 4 read throughs. I also know sometimes it gets so busy you skim through and just don't have anything to add. I've been less of a commenter as of late. I don't know why this is all bothering me right now, maybe because J is gone for a week and as lame as I am, the computer is the one place I get a little interaction with adult people. I know I need to get out of this stinking place once and a while but when it can be hard. I am looking forward to dinner with some friends I got back in touch with through facebook.
It has also been a hard week here doing bedtime. I am not a patient persom and sitting in the girl's room listening to her breathe wondering if she is asleep so I can leave is driving me bonkers. I swear she has sonar and can hear the instant my feet hit the stairwell. I am glad I haven't dismantled the crib yet because I had to put her in it the last 2 nights after hours on end of crying and breathing. On the flip side she has been napping glorious naps in my lap in the recliner, it has been nice, getting her to nod into the nap is the hard part.
J left to go deer hunting for the week last night. I have taken time off of work since getting Peanut Butter to daycare in the early ams is not my cup of tea and I have no daycare on the weekend, though I forgot I had asked my mom last year to keep the weekend open. All this time with the girl I realize I don't have a a lot of activities to do. I will have to work on this. I am kicking around going to the Y tonight to play at the water park, but I don't know if I want to brave the cold.

That's the Spirit

Rudolph Pictures, Images and Photos

I am one of those anxiously awaiting Christmas. You can have Turkey Day, it doesn't do much for me. We hardly ever celebrate it anymore since J goes deer hunting and I usually have to work. I am also doing the ornament swap at abbilyeverafter. I was searching for my person's ornament today, I'm not exactly sure what she likes from her blog so I'm hoping she likes the one I picked out. I thought I'd give some insight to the person who has me. I love Rudolph, I collect more and more every Christmas. I also like silver or frosty acrylic ornaments. Snowmen are fine too.
That being said I have been online shopping for Miss Peanut Butter. I think I might get this doll house. People have said it is perfect for those mini disney sets which they had super cheap at the disney outlet in the Dells. I am thinking about a little train and some wooden food items from moolka.com. I was looking for a nice baby for her, I saw a couple on etsy like, but if I'm interested in a Waldorf inspired doll I'm thinking I should maybe just buy the real thing. Aren't these the cutest baby doll diapers?
What is on your little ones list or yours for that matter?

Bedtime Drama and The Y

Last night was the first experience of "let's try the big girl's bed" for Peanut Butter and quite frankly I guess it could have gone worse. I read 3 stories to her after which I turned out the lights had her lullaby music playing and laid with her. This apparently wasn't to her standards and she crawled out of bed for another book which she threw on my head. I finally got her to sleep I think since I woke up and she was asleep and I felt like I had drank a six pack and didn't remember the party. I went downstairs and Jason said is she asleep and I said yes. In the big bed and I said yes, what time is it. It was almost ten thirty and I had put her to bed at nine. I was hoping to get a little overtime today at work so I hopped in to bed. At 12:30 the scream fest began. I went to her room and she was screaming in her bed. I tried to get her to lay down but she kept screaming. I took her to our room and she kept screaming. J told me her thought her diaper needed changing so I went and changed it and she was still screaming. She finally settled down in our bed and proceeded to as J put it "learn to swim" all night. She was all over the place and was scratching her back all night long. It was a nightmare. She woke up like a nothing had ever happened.
Nope, I didn't get called for some overtime. I sure could use the cash, but oh well. Peeps at work were laughing at me when I said I was going to come in for overtime, since I am not one that usually works any by choice. But I didn't even get called so I was forced to have a day off:) PB had to go to daycare since we have to schedule her for at least 2 half days a week. I went and worked my booty off at the Y. I joined a week or so ago and some what enjoy it. I find thier tredmills much nicer than the one at work though it still doesn't magically make me want to run. I do like to do the eliptical. Maybe someday I will brave the weights. I find it slightly amusing that with all this working out my thighs have grown and my pants are tighter in that area. Did I say amusing, I mean depressing.

How's that Workin' for Ya

As much as Dr. Phil annoys me, this phrase popped into my head after trying to put Peanut Butter down tonight. She screams every night when we put her down. I am at my wits end here. I cannot keep doing this. I whole heartedly believed that crying it out was the way we had to go. I tried laying across from her for hours, she at one point slept in our bed for months. But we have been crying it out for way longer than I like, even with the same routine practically every night. I would like to move her out of her crib and into her twin bed. I believe a whole new bedtime routine is in order and since I start some vacation time on Tuesday, I might try this Monday night. I can lay there and not worry about getting sleep myself since I won't have to be up at the crack of dawn for work. Though since the time change it feels more like the dead of the night. I'm trying to decide if I should do a book when we first lay in bed or if I should just do the you are going to sleep thing. We do a book now on the couch before we go up to bed right now, so I don't know if I want to mess with that. I am open to any and all suggestions.

Photostory Friday: Little Miss

Little Miss

Who would have though I would have given birth to the most headstrong little thing in the world? I have been pushed to my limits with her, yet still love her to pieces. I do not know if she is wired to do exactly the opposite of what I would like her to do or if that is just her way of having fun because she sure gets a laugh out of doing it. I do not know if she was wired to be a tornado through the world leaving destruction in her wake, but she does. Yet, one of the strangest things about my Little Miss is her complete love of the Disney Princesses. J nor me never saw this girly girl coming. Though the fact that she is also in love with Stitch doesn't surprise me one bit.

Scraphappy

As you can see, I got a few pages done this weekend. I was pretty proud of myself. I wasn't as social as I would've liked to be, but I was churning out pages. For some reason I had the mojo. I also realized I REALLY want either a cricut or a slice. I must get and electronic die cutter. They are so nice. My friend had her cricut out and another gal brought the jukebox for it which was really nice. I even did a 2 page LO, which is a total rarity for me, the photo of it did turn out. I feel weird sometimes when I get positve feedback on my stuff. I scraplift a lot of it and I feel like I do the same layout over and over. I should just enjoy it. I find I scrap totally different than most of my friends. I don't know if it is because they started with the Creative Memories system or what. One of them is breaking out of it a little, but they always ask me how I can scrap just one photo. My answer, I don't feel the need to scrap 5 photos that are very similar. I like to take the best one or maybe two, unless they tell a story. I don't feel the need to do two page layouts either. I acutally hate doing them because I feel the need to mirror them perfectly and it drives me buggy. The one photo question sometimes bothers me, like I'm not purveying the memory or something. I don't ask why they feel the need to scrap 5 of the same get everybody together and smile portraits of a specific event on the same page. I don't care that they do, that is their style, those are the things they want to remember. I just don't question their methods. I just prefer to scrap snapshots and in the moment things.

Photostory Friday: Me and My Shadow

Me and My Shadow

Miss Peanut Butter saw something the other day
and came running up to me all scared
.

She hid between my legs and pointed at the house.

I said, "Oh, Hon, that is just your shadow.
She wasn't buying it and pointed again all scared.

I showed her how they move and she seemed to catch on.
She watched herself get smaller.

She then thought it was fun to make her shadow move.

Who Of Thunk It.

I got Miss Peanut Butter some Play-Doh today. I wasn't sure if she would like it, but I figured we should start doing something arts and crafty. She seemed to really enjoy it. Mushing it all out across the table was a big hit. She even started putting each color away when she was done with it.
If you have someone that is into the princesses they have a ton of stuff in the dollar spot at target. We got magnets and PB seem to think they are stickers which will not stick to her shirt no matter how hard she tries. I also had a ToysRUs gift card from Nana for PB and she picked out Ariel bath barbie and Snow White shimmer barbie. She is crazy for Ariel. I was going to make one of those tie fleece blankets and looked at fleece at Jo-Ann's today, but I will have to get a coupon and go back, 14 bucks a yd is a little steep for this chicka. Funny, I never think that way with scrapbook supplies:)
I'm supposed to go over to a friends house this weekend to scrapbook. I told J about this at least a month ago. Now he is giving me this crap about working overtime and is throwing a wrench into the whole thing. Overtime is pretty scarce at work, so planning what shift he is going to work is impossible. I'm hoping he can work 1st tomorrow and I have my weekend. We'll see.

Did You Vote??

Peanut Butter and I walked down to vote.

Here's a sample ballot for history sake.

Here's our polling site. No lines at 2:45ish this afternoon.
J said he had to wait 15 min or so this morning.
I was voter 250 in my ward.

This is who I voted for.

A Beautiful Day

It was a beautiful day today, a very rare day in the 70's. We went and played at the park. Of course, I forgot my camera so this shot is from the other day. Peanut Butter gets very possessive of the playground equipment and we left as it started getting a little busy. It was a great day for a walk, but for some reason I am really tired. I don't know if it is the time change or what. Hopefully, after work tomorrow, PB and I will go vote, and be able to play at the park again. It is supposed to be another fantastic day.

Record Holders

J and I drove to South Bend, IN, yesterday for the Notre Dame/Pitt football game. J is a huge fan. We went last year to the Navy game in which they lost in 3 overtimes, the longest game in ND history. We watch them lose yesterday in 4 overtimes. So we have been to both of the longest losing games in ND history. Maybe we are a jinx or something. I guess we got out money's worth.
For being a 4 hour drive one way it wasn't too bad except for the fact we dished out almost 20 bucks in tolls. And I don't know if J drives unusually slow since I almost always go at least 10 over and have been known to keep up with traffic, but man the peeps from IL were flying past us. And peeps from IL, I get that you want to drive 90 through the extremely narrow construction lanes, but you have to let people merge. I am amazed there are not more accidents.
I'm going to a crop in IL in March, I'm half tempted to fork out for an I-Pass so I can just fly through the tolls. They are a huge PITA. Have one toll when you get on or off or like IN or OH do it, with picking up a ticket and paying when you get off. Stopping for 5 tolls in one state in about a 60 mile stretch is a PITA. No wonder everyone is driving 90 mph.

nablopomo

Ok, I am a totally lame blogger for not knowing it is blogging month. This is also my lame attempt to catch up since I wasn't home yesterday to find out all this news. We had to sadly watch Notre Dame lose in 4 overtimes.
Miss Peanut Butter found her shadow the other day. I don't know if she has figured it all out yet, but she was intrigued and a little scared.
