The Hits Just Keep on Coming

I had a wonderful time scrapbooking this weekend. It was a nice break from reality for a while. The ride home was horrendous. It poured most of the way home which in itself gets tiring, but I had to pick up The Boy in Whitewater on my way home and just at the time he needed to be picked up it started sleeting and then snowing and it took me over an hour and a half to drive 45 min worth of road. My Mom and brother were crazy enough to drive here to have dinner. It seemed to let up by the time we were done though.
Monday night we had Miss Peanut Butter's daycare progress update. She has been improving from the last time and seems to be adjusting to the potty there. I feel like a horrible mom since the next parent got, she knows all her colors, shapes, and potty training was a breeze wasn't it. Ugh, PB has completely given up potty training here. I can barely get her on at night before bed just to prolong bedtime. I'm glad there is some magic at daycare that keeps her interested there. I feel like a failure that she doesn't know that basic crap. I don't spend a lot of time doing that stuff. She doesn't have much interest in it when I do. She loves to do animals and food and I was at least happy to hear that the next day she was a wiz at naming the food things in group. They said she really got into it. That's my girl.
I got the wonderful news today that my biosies came back on the high end so they want to do the LEEP. I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to that. I guess it could be worse, I could have full blown cancer.
I also turn the big 3-5 this weekend, though that doesn't bother me too much. I just want a day in bed. But J has procured a sitter and we are going to do dinner and a movie Saturday night. Who Hoo.

I SO know where you are coming from on the home versus daycare (preschool for us) thing . . . I have Cooper's conference tomorrow. I know he does a lot more at school than he will do here - very frustrating sometimes.

I am sorry you have to go through the LEEP - hopefully it wil be the last procedure needed!

And YEAH for a birthday night out! Though I too would opt for a day in bed as well!

Great picture, Robyn!

Sorry to hear that you have to have Leep, but it could be worse. Hopefully, this will kick it.

Try not to compare PB with others. Kids grow and learn at all different stages. It can definitely be frustrating.

Sounds like a fun birthday night out...enjoy!!!

Cervical cancer is no joke...I have had quite a few friends who have had it also. I hope the LEEP is successful for you (although I can't imagine it will be any fun!)

your hubby got a sitter on his own? wow!! impressive..

and don't feel like a failure... kids go at their own pace and when they're pushed it's no good... keep on keepin' on!

cute photo of you :)

and i hope the leep goes well.. hang in there!!

That sucks Robin. So sorry to hear that. I guess you have to count your blessings though, it could be much worse!

I don't think the fact that PB isn't learning that stuff is because of your parenting. She isn't interested so how can she learn it? Bianca is much different than Annika and just started doing puzzles and reading books recently when Annika was doing puzzles at 1 year and loving books at 6 months old. I was worried, but realized she will learn diff. things at diff. times. I wouldn't worry, just incorporate that stuff into everything you do. Cooking, or cleaning. The other day I made the kids clean up the blocks by color, they didn't know it but I made cleaning fun and made them think about colors!

Great pic of you and I hope you have a great birthday!

Happy Birthday! Just think 3-5 is a lot better than 5-3 ;)

sounds like you need a hug. I hope you have a great birthday. And kids are ALWAYS better for someone else than they are for their parents. They can "let their hair down" with their parents. :)
