What kind of costume are you doing this Halloween? I whenever Halloween comes around I love getting the parenting magazines with all the neat homemade costumes, but never think that I could make something that would look as good. I have to be honest and say I love the Old Navy animal costumes. Miss Peanut Butter was a monkey for her second Halloween and a skunk last year. This year Peanut Butter initially wanted to be a pirate and I found a cute costume online that I was going to order, but a couple weeks later a catalog with costumes in it came and PB was hell bent on being a princess. She didn't know which princess, but it was going to be a Disney princess. We ran through them all: Aurora, Cinderella, Mulan, Ariel, Belle, and Jasmine. She even took a stab at Tiana the newest princess, that costume, however, was 90 bucks, so that was not going to happen. It had seemed we might be going with Mulan until we were trying on costumes at Wally World and she wanted Ariel in THE worst way. I did not like any of the mermaid costumes I saw until I came upon a homemade one going for $55 dollars on Ebay. I thought hey, I can make that one and I did. Peanut Butter is pretty excited about it. I still need a few finishing touches, but I'm pretty happy with it.

Oh my gosh is that cute! Great job!
I too love the Old Navy costumes, and am devestated that Cooper is now too big for them! I am not at all happy with his store-bought SWAT officer costume, and am already planning ahead for next year so that I am on the ball and can make something.
I'd love to take a stab at making costumes one of these years. Einstein and I use to go to a Halloween party every year (before everyone started having kids) and I always made the costumes. We had a lot of fun making them. Store bought for the kids this year......Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Although we might be making a Slinky Dog costume for Norman!
Yeah, I don't make things like that. I wish I could! The costume looks awesome! I don't know my way around a sewing machine and someone would probably get hurt! Anyway, we are going store bought and probably always will, hmph!
Like Michelle said, I would probably hurt myself making homemade! hahaha.
I LOVE OLd Navy, as well. The costumes are warm and cute. I will be bummed when Reyna grows out of their sizes for costumes.
Love your mermaid costume-So Cute!
I like to make them, but sometimes I don't feel like going through all the work. This is the 2 yr I made Em's- she wanted to be a Peacock...I know??? But because I couldn't find one online other than the one at PBK for like 75 or 80 $$ I decided to do my own...so far so good. I actually have the tutu part in my lap LOL I think its the same color as your mermaids tutu!!
You made this!!! That is amazing!!
Chicken is going to be a golfer! We bought his costume LOL, I'm no good with fabric!
