Photostory Friday: Just the Crown isn't Enough

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Peanut Butter's Birthday was on Monday. They made her a crown at daycare, which apparently needed some princess-ing up.

We had a packet of princess stickers that she stuck all over the crown, every which way. After she covered it with an entire sheet, she was then ready to play.

There is nothing better than a birthday Princess.

Someone Turned 3 Today

Miss Peanut Butter's Third Birthday was today, sigh, where does the time go? I know you are all curious about the Curious George cake. I managed to get the thing home unscathed by the girl. I put it up in the cupboard so she wouldn't try to get at it. Silly Mama. I was about to get in the shower as J went down stairs and said, "So much for a cake." My heart sank, I was out 30 bucks for the cake and would have to get a new one. Luckily my daughter has super strength. After attempting to get up on the counter with a rubbermaid shoe container that crushed, she got a small garbage can from the living room, dumped the trash on the floor and brought it into the kitchen and flipped it over, climbed up onto the counter, opened the cupboard, pulled the half sheet of cake out, placed in on the counter and began to stick her fingers in it. After all that it was amazingly good shape. How the heck she was able to get it out of the cupboard, I will never know.

We had her party at the park yesterday, it was a beautiful day. I think she had a pretty darn good time. The only real mar on the day was a group set up in the other pavilion and blasted Mexican polkas from the parking lot. It got pretty old fast.

She also got to hang out with Nana, which I know she loved. She kept yelling and waving, "come 'ear Nana!"

The pirate ship was a big hit. She has listened to "How I Became a Pirate" last night and tonight. She actually got into the pictures tonight. Who would've thought Miss Princess would like pirates. One of our friends was surprised when she opened the book. He said, "Pirates?" I said she has a thing for pirates wait until you see the ship and he laughed.

We went for her 3 year check up today and she is doing well. We had to work today so she got to have a little party at daycare. I guess she got mobbed when she came in with her balloon. How she managed to make it to day care with out losing the balloon, I don't know. All in all I think she had a good birthday.

My Peanut Butter ever the princess at 3. The terrible twos are over, right?

PhotoStory Friday: What's that Smell?

This my friends is the face you get from Peanut Butter when you try to take her in the animal barns at the fair. The whole reason we went to the fair was so she could see some of the animals, but she would not go in the barns. I will admit they are a bit stinky. We did the rides, played some games, ate, and Daddy tricked PB by putting her on his shoulders and walking into the barns. Having no choice in the matter, PB looked at the animals. She even tried to plug Daddy's nose for him, what a trooper. Can anyone tell me why they put the cow's hinder to the walk way? I didn't enjoy the cow barn. It was also really hard not to want to eat all the goodies there.

How Hard Could It Be

J is working overnight tonight which allowed me to go shopping for Peanut Butter's Birthday. I first went to ToysRUs and I don't know if it was toy overload or what, but I had to leave, with nothing. I went to Target and didn't find what I was looking for there, but picked up some stuff we needed and headed to the Party store for some decorations. A quick stop at Old Navy and I went back to Toys. I got the pirate ship. I hemmed and hawed over that dang leapster for way longer than I should have. I think it might be a little much for her right now, maybe Christmas. Now I had to find something else, she is at that age where some stuff is too advanced and some stuff is too baby, we don't need a whole lot more in Princess land either. I looked and looked and came upon a NiHaoKaiLan mega blok set. As I was price checking it in the scanner I saw the castle that I got for her last Christmas and right underneath it was this folding doll house. I thought this would be great since the Playmobile one might be a bit much for her right now and this one she can play with without a lot of supervision. I looked through the rest of the Melissa and Doug stuff hoping they had the ice cream set, but they didn't. Then I wondered if this was the right choice. I called J and asked him and he said that is fine. I tried to find a family for her to play with it, since it only comes with the 2 figures, but I haven't found anything I like. I also picked up How I Became a Pirate by Melinda Long and A Little Bear book. I enjoy reading the Little Bear series, though Peanut Butter doesn't always seem to want to listen to me read them. I also found a little time to stop in the scrapbook store and pick up some paper. I'm glad I didn't spent anymore time in there since who knows what I would have found. I got a bonus after I got home and my Stampin' Up order came in. I just need to find some time to scrapbook.

One of Those Things

Peanut Butter's birthday is quickly approaching and like the good mom I am I haven't done or purchased a thing. Peanut Butter has been so obsessed with the George birthday cake, that I haven't gotten any ideas out of her on what to get her for her birthday. A gal I work with suggested one of those battery operated jeeps that her grandson just loves. I flat out said no. She asked why and I said she will have it on the street and she cannot steer those things. It so happened we stopped over at our friends that afternoon and they have one for their daughter and PB hopped in and attempted to drive the thing. At one point a little boy that is in her daycare class was driving and she was riding and they crashed into the house, he bounced off the windshield and ended up with a shiner. It was confirmed no Jeep. I was perusing amazon last night looking for birthday gifts. I found the fisher price pirate ship. Peanut Butter was in love. It has become her new obsession. Last night at bedtime, she said, "Mama, I wanna George birthday cake and pirates." It is now nonstop as soon as I walked in the door from work, "Mama, I see pirate ship pleeeease." I brought the page up and she had to watch the video about 100 times. One week of this left, oy. I'm also considering getting the leapster or the leapster2. I don't know if any of you have one, if you do, do you recommend it. PB is into sitting and pretending to play games with her brother, so I thought this might be neat for her. Hopefully, I can get to ToysRus Wednesday.

PhotoStory Friday: Birthday Cake

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

It is hard to believe but Peanut Butter is going to be three in 10 days. I made the mistake of letting her look at birthday party supplies about 3 weeks ago. She has adamantly decided she would like a "'George' birthday cake pleeeeeeeease." George being Curious George. I have been asked for a George birthday cake everyday, many of times a day. The kicker, Peanut Butter doesn't eat cake. She pokes at it but never eats it. I ask her what else she would like for her birthday and all she says is "a George birthday cake pleeeease." I have a feeling she will have a George birthday cake, how can I not with a face like that one begging for one?

The End of Baseball

Another baseball season comes to an end. J had the city tournament this weekend and what could be better for baseball than a ton of rain. They ended up pushing games back yesterday and had to cancel the rest of the tournament this afternoon due to storms rolling in. I went to the fields around three since they didn't have many parents signed up to work the afternoon and it was just starting to rain. I helped clean up a bit and then it started to get nasty and I decided to take Peanut Butter home before it poured and she was trapped in the snack shack with 20 other people bouncing off the walls. Hopefully we'll be able to have some family dinners again, because pizza and mac and cheese is really getting old.
The rain did not bode well for my rummage sale yesterday either. I may try and do it again on Thursday and then everything is going to St. Vinnie's or Goodwill. Though we did have some of the hottest weather of the summer this weekend and I am not a hot weather person. I personally have been lovin' the mild summer we have had, nice enough to spend a lot of time outside without feeling the exhaustion of the scorching heat. It did give me an excuse to stay inside and clean up the house today. It was looking like a train wreck. The upstairs still needs attending to, but the lower level is looking much better. It will look even better when the foot high pile of baseball stuff is gone.
I am waiting to hear which 4 wonderful days I get to take off without pay in coming months. Thankfully they are docking our pay at a percentage every check and not a full day the weeks we take our furlough day. I have yet to figure out how this is going to save money when more than likely some one on overtime will be working my day off. At least I got to somewhat pick days. J has his picked for him since he has a Monday - Friday job.

One Weekend Left

Peanut Butter loves riding on the tractors that they drag the baseball fields with. We only have the city tournament this weekend and baseball is done for another year. It will be so nice to have a normal life again, what ever that is. I, for some reason also thought it was a good idea to do a rummage sale on Sat. I don't know what I was thinking. Hopefully I can get everything ready on Friday.
Peanut Butter is also turning 3 this month. All she can talk about is getting a Curious George cake for her birthday. The bad thing is the first bakery I checked doesn't do a George cake. And as great of cake makers that some of you all are, I just don't have it in me. I may just order the overlay from somewhere and get a plainish cake from the bakery. Funny thing is, she doesn't even like cake.
