I wish people would let the good in themselves win. I'd like to believe that each and every criminal started out as sweet as my children. Who knows how they became the way they are. Drugs, painful past, mental disorder. Really, all of it could lead to the other. I just have to have faith that I will do the best I can as a mother to raise "good" people. Like I commented on Michelle's blog, I think that both environment and genetic factors play a part in violent acts. I agree that prison does NOT rehab 95% of the people there, but i also know that every once in awhile good people do stupid things and get caught.
